Accra’s social scene reached new heights this past week with the successful launch of the very first Tall Ghana networking event, “The Elevated Circle: Tall Ghana,” hosted by media personality and cultural strategist Ivy Prosper.
Held at Sai Wine & Champagne Café in Osu, the event brought together tall professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs, diaspora members, and socialites for an evening centered around community, confidence, networking, and shared experiences.
Inspired by her experiences as a tall woman her whole life, and the growing popularity of “Tall Tour” events taking place across the United States, Tall Ghana was created as a lifestyle and social platform specifically designed to connect tall people living in Ghana and those visiting from the diaspora.
The atmosphere throughout the evening was relaxed yet energetic as guests bonded over the realities of being tall in Ghana. Sharing stories about constantly ducking under ceiling fans to hearing the familiar question: “Do you play basketball?” The event featured networking activities, music, social mixers, interactive games, group photos, and conversations that quickly turned strangers into friends.

Founder Ivy Prosper, who stands at 6’1” (185cm) and has spoken openly about the experience of being tall since her teenage years, welcomed guests and shared the vision behind the community. “I’ve been 6’1″ since I was 15 years old,” she shared during her opening remarks. “Pretty much my whole life it’s been, ‘you’re so tall how tall are you?” As she shared experiences, guests could relate to everything she shared.
Many attendees expressed excitement about finally seeing a space intentionally created for tall people in Ghana, with several guests already asking when the next edition will take place.
The event also highlighted a growing shift toward niche lifestyle communities and curated social experiences in Ghana, particularly among young professionals, creatives, and globally connected audiences looking for more meaningful in-person interactions.
According to organizers, Tall Ghana is expected to expand beyond social mixers into future experiences including fashion collaborations, networking events, wellness experiences, community storytelling, and potentially a wider “Tall Africa” platform in the future.
The first edition of Tall Ghana marks the beginning of what could become one of Ghana’s most unique and visually distinctive lifestyle communities.
