Tall Ghana Successfully Hosts Third Edition in Kumasi

Tall Ghana has successfully hosted its third edition, bringing its growing community to Kumasi in Ghana’s Ashanti Region for the first time.

Held at the Starbites Asokwa Branch, the event brought together people from different professions, backgrounds and age groups. Their common connection was a shared experience that is often difficult for others to understand: being tall in a world designed primarily for people of average height.

The tallest guest in attendance was a young man who stood at an impressive 6 feet 11 inches. Carrying himself with quiet confidence, he shared that he currently plays basketball in Spain. While his height may offer an obvious advantage on the basketball court, it was also wonderful to see how his talent has created opportunities for him beyond Ghana.

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed good music, interactive games and meaningful conversations. The networking activities were designed to help people move beyond simple introductions and connect through the experiences they have in common.

Many spoke about what it feels like to regularly be the tallest person in a room. Others shared stories about struggling with limited legroom on buses, finding clothes and shoes that fit, and constantly being asked questions about their height.

These may seem like small inconveniences to some, but for tall people, they are part of everyday life. Being able to laugh about these experiences, exchange stories and connect with people who immediately understand created a genuine sense of belonging.

More importantly, the Kumasi edition demonstrated that Tall Ghana is becoming much more than an event. It is developing into a community where tall people can build confidence, create friendships, expand their professional networks and celebrate what makes them different.

The response since the event has been encouraging. Many people are already asking when Tall Ghana will return to both Accra and Kumasi. We have also received requests to bring the experience to other parts of the country, including Tamale in Northern Ghana and Takoradi in the Western Region.

We are excited about the opportunity to continue growing this community and hosting future editions in cities across Ghana.

Tall Ghana invites tall men and women across the country to join the community and receive updates about upcoming events, opportunities and activities.
